MDREX set to recruit Director Jaehyun Park to be in charge of product approval, reimbursement, etc. for Japanese medical devices

Japan’s medical device industry is ranked second to third in scale globally as an independent country, and the market size continues to increase every year. As Japan has already made its entry into the super-aged society, various medical devices using the IT (such as SaMD) are now being used both in medical and home environments after obtaining product approval from the PMDA and reimbursement listing from the Ministry of Health Labor and Welfare (MHLW).

For such reasons, various Korean medical device companies specialized in digital health, etc. have made efforts to make a foray into the Japanese market but have either failed due to high regulatory standards or succeeded in making the market entry but failed in market expansion due to the low reimbursement price.

For the above reasons, MDREX has recruited Director Jaehyun Park from Kim & Chang Law Firm to offer effective consulting solutions to resolve any concerns related to issues in Japanese market entry.

After directing consulting work related to Japan including medical device field from September 2009 until March 2024, Director Jaehyun Park is now joining MDREX as of April 1, as Chief Japan Officer (CJO) specializing in Japanese In/Out-bound consulting.
